I am a proud, loving father of a 7 year old boy and a devoted husband/best friend for ten years to my wife, Jen. My given name is Scott Henderson, while many know me as Scotty Hendo. I am the sole provider of our household income and very humbled by my wife’s commitment to stay at home (despite what the gas & mileage records say) to care for our son.
The Fatherhood Gap is my way of committing myself to being a great father and grow better in my role. With the number of “mommy bloggers” far outpacing “daddy bloggers”, I want to give voice and bring attention to the physical, mental, and social challenge of being a devoted dad. I am far from perfect, but I am willing to open my thoughts and feeling up to the world. Plus, I want to be lavished with swag bags.
If we all kept doing what we were doing, the path we’d walk on would be called the present path. For most people, that would be sufficient. However, some of us aspire for more. We are dissatisfied with the present path and have a vision of fatherhood that is far greater. The space between our vision of fatherhood and our present path is The Fatherhood Gap.
